The saying among preachers is that there aren’t many original sermons! We are always “borrowing” ideas from someone else—especially if the idea is good. Many years ago I heard Hardy Clemons talk about the “sacrament of shaking the dust from your feet.” That is the origin of this sermon. Hopefully this doesn’t do damage to his idea!
But are there times when the holiest thing, the most loving thing, the most sacramental thing is to walk away and shake the dust from your feet?
