Have you ever had the experience of riding down the road with the radio blaring one of your favorite songs, the one you danced to all night long, when the person you are with says, “That’s not the words!” (Though I didn’t get to show this video during the sermon, I sure wanted to!)
How often have you been in a conversation when someone says, “Well, the Bible says….” Pretty much ends the discussion, doesn’t it? But is that really what it says? How much of our Bible has been influenced by history, prejudice, theology? Both that in the scripture and our own? How many times do we just misunderstand scripture?
