Lessons From My Fathers--All of Them

There are some Sundays that are tougher to preach than others. Sometimes it is a passage that is so obtuse, so difficult. Other times it is so familiar that you can’t say anything new.

Mother’s Day is hard, but Father’s Day, for some is even tougher. What are you supposed to say? Where are you going to find an example of a good father? Not in the Bible! Name one good father in the Bible. We can wait.

On this Sunday I shared some of the lessons I learned from so many “fathers,” people that I bet would be surprised to hear their name in a sermon. Who are your fathers? What lessons did they teach you?

Thank you to these two who continue to teach me what it means to be a father.
