A Sense of Christmas: the Smell of Peace

“You can’t smell peace,” someone told me this week. And they are right. We so often overlook our sense of smell and what it does for us. It rarely makes the list in the game, “If you had to lose a sense, which one would you give up?”

But our sense of smell is most directly attached to our emotions. It can take us back into our history, and pull; us into the future.

Zechariah never smelled frankincense again without remember, and looking forward. Might we catch a whiff of God’s peace today?
