As I was checking out of the grocery store the other day the cashier sent me away saying, “Have a blessed day!”
I had been working on my sermon and wondered what she meant. Was she wishing me a Luke blessing? In our passage today Jesus says, “Blessed are the poor; blessed are those who are hungry; blessed are you who weep.”
Is that what she meant? How do we see blessings? Is that what we really want out of life?
It seems that Jesus turns our world upside down! What are we to do with that?
