Remembrance Day Meditation

Every years on the Sunday before November 11, Port Williams holds its Remembrance Day Observance. The pastor of Port Williams United Baptist traditionally is the host. That created a quandary, as I am an American and had never even been to one of these before!

This is always a significant time in the life of Port Williams as the last casualty of WWI was Pvt. George Price grew up in Port Williams. He was killed at 10:58 am. The Armistice went in to effect at 11:00. Because this is the 100th Anniversary of the end of World War I, the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia was in attendance. This is the Queen’s representative to our province, which means this is a big deal!

With all that, my hope was not to create an international incident!
