The Danger of Lent

I had a friend once say, “If Jesus had never healed anyone, had never done any miracles, never risen from the dead; if all he had done was tell his stories I would believe he was the Son of God. You just can’t come up with stories like his!”

He’s is right! The stories Jesus told, especially in the Gospel of Luke, are just amazing! And the one for our sermon this week, The Prodigal Son, is perhaps my favorite!

The problem with favorite stories however is that we know them. We know them so well that sometimes they just get lost on us.

I invite you to read, or take a listen. Maybe hearing it a bit differently will help us hear it again for the first time!
