Temptation!
If only they came with flashing lights that spell out DANGER! Abandon all hope all ye who enter here!
But most of the time they are a lot less obvious. They don’t come with a choice between good and evil, right and wrong. Most of the time they come in the choice between two goods. And they come all the time.
That is what happened to Jesus. Luke says he was tempted for 40 days. It was only then that we see what we have always called his temptations. But the thing is, there isn’t a bad choice before Jesus!
