Do you ever play the “What if” game? You know the one where you wonder what would have happened if you had taken a different path? Maybe a different course, or asked a different person out, or taken that job? How would your life been different?
What about those times when the way forward was blocked?
In many ways it raises the question of who god is. Is God a puppeteer who makes all the decisions for us, directing where we should go or not go?
Or is it as a friend questioned one time, “Is God’s will something we only see in the rear view mirror?”
That is the question I wrestle with in a sermon that is WAY too personal than my normal sermon, but one that I hope raises some questions for you to ponder. It is inspired by the fact that we are about to make another rather terrifying move and wondering if God is in this.
I invite you to listen, or read; to ask the question along with us.
How did I get here?
